About Amherst Greenhouse
Amherst Greenhouse is a retail greenhouse owned and operated by Adin and Mary Horst. All five of our children are involved in the business.
In 2002 we started with a 10′ x 20′ greenhouse for our own plants because we couldn’t afford to purchase them. We soon discovered we had way more than we needed, so we put a little sign at the end of the driveway and everything was soon gone.
The Lord directed us into raising plants as a business, and we put up a 1,800 square foot greenhouse and did around 700 chrysanthemums that fall. We soon saw the demand was there, and the Lord blessed abundantly.
We have grown to 6 acres under roof and approximately 100,000 chrysanthemums. It is an honor to serve some of the finest people around!
