About Our Greenhouse
Amherst Greenhouse is a retail greenhouse owned and operated by Adin and Mary Horst. We are a family business where all of our children are involved.
In 2002, we started with a 10′ x 20′ greenhouse for our own plants because we couldn’t afford to purchase them. We soon discovered we had way more than we needed, so we put a little sign at the end of the driveway and everything was soon gone.
The Lord directed us into raising plants as a business, and we started with an 1,800 square foot greenhouse and around 700 chrysanthemums in the Fall. We saw the demand was there, and the Lord blessed abundantly.
We have grown to 5 acres under roof and approximately 80,000 chrysanthemums. It is an honor to serve some of the finest people around!
